Jonathan R. Heagle, CFP®, CFA
Jonathan is the founder of Mountain Vista Wealth Management, a firm whose mission is to help individuals and families assess their current financial situation and create a strategic plan to achieve their financial goals, while also allocating resources to pursue their passions. People often assume that financial planning is all saving and sacrifice, and a large part of it is, but we believe that having a financial plan in place also gives one the confidence and power to spend, knowing that they are still on track to attaining their goals.
Before starting Mountain Vista, Jonathan was a fixed income portfolio manager for the Royal Bank of Canada for 9 years. During this time, he managed a proprietary trading portfolio comprised of mortgage-backed securities, totaling $300-500 million. He was also one of six portfolio managers overseeing a $3+ billion securitized bond portfolio. Prior to joining RBC, he worked at Goldman Sachs in the Mortgage department as a structurer and loan trader.
Over the course of his 16 years on Wall Street, Jonathan accumulated a wealth of knowledge related to market dynamics, risk management strategies, and various types of securities. He is excited to bring this expertise to the management of Mountain Vista’s client portfolios.
When he is not reading market research, stress testing portfolios, or creating financial plans, you may find him snowboarding in the backcountry or cycling around his hometown of Santa Barbara. He is also a proud husband and father of two daughters, so the realities and responsibilities of providing for a family have special meaning to him.
